Time for A New Post

Welcome Kate and Laurie! Do you girls want to be contributors? Let us know and you're in like flin!
What are you all reading? I'm just starting The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory (Julie/Crazymama said to see the movie first or I'd be disappointed but I haven't done either yet) and I've been picking at Emily of New Moon by LM Montgomery - but honestly, she's no Anne (and LM tends to get a little windy with her descriptions).

So, everyone, give us a title and a two sentence book report about what you're currently reading (or have just finished). Please.

yesterday i finished Sense and Sensibility. how can i talk about this in 2 sentences?!? 2 poor sisters looking for love. find a cad. talk a lot!!

excellent! go get it and read it!

i just started Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult. Nina Frost is an assistant district attorney that prosecutes the sort of crimes that tear families apart. Then she discovers her 5 year old son has been sexually abused.

i love her stuff. but some it is VERY hard to read. i'll let you know how it turns out.

I love anything/everything by Jane Austen! I try to read through them all at least every other year.

I just finished Emily 1 & 2 and I'm on Emily's Quest by LM Montgomery. I'm really starting to breeze through them, now that I'm skipping the long descriptive paragraphs. Please. Didn't they have editors back then?

Another beauty of Jane Austen - that woman knew how to keep to the story line!

I'm supposed to be reading A Man for All Seasons, but I accidentally ordered the play instead of the book. Bummer. Just not the same.

And I haven't even had time to start Boleyn Girl.

this week i read before green gables and the handmaidens tale. as a HUGE anne fan, i was looking forward to reading this book. kinda. i was nervous that someone else was going to try to make anne consistent with what i knew of her. and i'm still not sure i liked it. it was very depressing in a way. if you love anne as much as i do, read it. if you are a so-so fan, don't bother.

the handmaiden's tale. wow. very scary. love how it was written. and it goes fast. i recommend it. then let me know what you think.

how's that for a report? :)

so i didn't read the book well enough! it's the HANDMAID'S tale not the handmaiden's tale. sorry about that!

I just finished "I'll Find You" It was okay. If you want a fast read then go for it, but it isn't very deep.

Right now I'm reading "The Last Sin Eater" by Francine Rivers. I just started. Then when I'm done with that I'll read "Two Trees" by Kevin Lee Luthier. He is a local writer so I thought it would be fun to support him.

I loved "The Other Boleyn Girl". SO good. Have you read "The Constant Princess"? Go get if you haven't.

Jane Austen ROCKS!! I love ALL her books.

Fabulous date night tonight! My DH took me to my favorite used book store and I bought: The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, All But My Life by Gerda Weissmann Klein, The Memory Keeper's Daughter, by Kim Edwards, The Poetry and Short Stories of Dorothy Parker, and...

Braiding and Knotting for Amateurs (Revised Edition with new Belt projects!) by C.A. Belash. (Um yeah, the knot tying book was supposed to be for my scouting brother who is way into tying knots, but it has some really cool stuff in it, and now I'm not sure I can part with it! LOL!

Ooh, and then we went out for donuts! Can't beat that! (I'd much rather buy books than waste money on going out to dinner.)

I just finished Reading Stone Cold by David Baldacci. It is about like all his other books Not a bad read. It's something. It is pretty clean too.
I am more excited about the book I get to go pick up at Deseret Book today. # 3 in the Fablehaven series. They are fantasy childrens novels. Love, Love, Love, them.

This was the 2nd Philippa Gregory I read. I began with the Bolelyn Inheritance and I couldn't get enough of it. Ijust finished "The Forgotten Garden" by Kate Morton. I LOVED her book House at Riverton and this newer book had that same style of bouncing between times. Loved it.
